From raw material to usable grain.
Different material families follow different production routes. Fused minerals, sintered ceramics and finished abrasive tools should be evaluated against their own processing and quality requirements. The stages below describe typical mineral-grain processing.
01 · Material preparation
Raw-material chemistry and cleanliness establish the starting point for the selected mineral.
02 · Fusion or thermal processing
Fusion, calcination or sintering develops the material structure according to the product family.
03 · Crushing and grading
Crushing and classification control grain shape and separate the required particle fractions.
04 · Inspection and packing
Particle distribution, relevant material properties and packaging are checked against the agreed specification.
